COVID-19 LOCK down
Yesterday on the eve of the great Solemnity of Saint Joseph, Saint Gianna’s Maternity Home and those who live there took the necessary step of a lock down. We began in the chapel, with our Lord, consecrating ourselves to Saint Joseph and renewing our consecration to Saint Gianna and invoking the intercession of St. Camillus de Lellis.
We then processed around our property with Father Joseph leading us with the Blessed Sacrament as we prayed the litany of Saints. We then came inside and locked our doors - 1 priest and 12 of us. We are blessed to include Gianna Emanuela Molla who has been in this country since March 3rd and was in quarantine before coming here yesterday.
We also include a two-month-old, a three-year-old, our mothers, teenagers, and staff who live here. We take very seriously the privilege we have to still be able to have Mass and Holy Hours when so many cannot. We will all attend Mass each day at 11 AM and a holy hour at 4 PM. We lift all the sick and suffering up in our prayers and Holy Communion and pray particularly for healing and protection for all of our extended family, and all of you who have supported us over the years.
We know that we are blessed, and we are so grateful to you! Please know that even though we have closed our doors, our hearts are close to you during this difficult time! May God have mercy on us all!
